Poet: Unkown
English Translation: Chris Hathaway
Composer: Luise Greger

If you have a love, hold her tight and warm,
Lovingly cradle her in your arms!
As love smiles, sunshine falls,
Happiness sprouts within the heart.
Pines, wake up, hearken this once!
Water, rush forth, bring it to the valley!

For me the world shines blessed and bright,
Lovely, delightful is the one who chose me.

Love will fill my longing heart,
Yet oft exchanges joy with pain,
Loud rejoicing proclaims the good fortune,
Private tears obscure my sight!
Listen, little bird, then tell the whole world,
Carry it to the sea, this wonderful news:

For me the world shines blessed and bright,
Lovely, delightful is the one who chose me.
