Lied: Alma Schindler Mahler
Poem: Rainer Maria Rilke
English Translation: Andrea Atkinson
All is peaceful wherever you are, faint watches beat as in olden days;
They tell me sweet things, but not too loudly.
Somewhere a gate opens; outside into the falling flowers
The evening listens at the window panes.
Let us stay silent; no one knows we are here.
