Elsa Bienenfeld studied Music at the University of Vienna, and taught and composed music in the area after her graduation in 1903. She was the first woman to graduate with that degree from the University. In 1942 she was sent to an extermination camp in Russia because of her Jewish heritage, where she was executed on May 26th of that year.
